Sheriff's Posse

Last night I drove to Bickleton and had a great meal at the Bickleton Market Street Cafe. I spoke to customers about running for Sheriff. I later attended the Posse (East) monthly meeting and training. There was a review of the de-escalation training from January and then covered basic radio etiquette and communication. The Sheriff introduced a Posse member who was now a Corporal and would be facilitating training among the different posse divisions. They are trying to ensure training is consistent across all members. They ended the evening with a hands-on exercise utilizing the radios with the knowledge they had just been presented. It was quite enjoyable.

What a fantastic evening! (Tuesday February 2026)

Tonight’s candidate spotlight was a full house — great energy, great questions, and a real sense of momentum in the room.

We heard from:

• John Bruce, candidate for Klickitat County Sheriff

• Andy Kallinen, candidate for County Commissioner, District 2

Both knocked it out of the park, sharing their vision and answering a wide range of questions from the community. We accomplished a lot together.
